Quaker lays on her back

For most birds, it’s very unnatural for them to lay on their backs and it takes a lot of trust and training to get them to do this. It’s my favorite behavior to teach a bird, and I have three that will do it for me. Zyda’s camera shy, though, and Anica just skips through all the steps and rolls over on her own, so I decided Adaryn would be best for showing purposes.

Martie the blue quaker says “peekaboo”
I got Martie a couple of weeks ago from a family who no longer could care for her. I previously had a lovebird for 11 years (RIP Urza), so I wasn’t taking her blindly. She’s a bit skittish about being handled, but she’s extremely smart, and someone in the past obviously had spent some time training her, as she says quite a few phrases.
