Aw and he nods when you ask if he likes it. Cute!
And what is “target training?” Yes I’m a bird noob :(
“Happy bird happy bird happy bird!” Haaaa, great kid.
I agree best to use sticks made of fruit wood just to be safe. Wouldn’t want to encourage a bird to eat/chew pencils. If it’s not poisonous for us doesn’t mean it’s truly nontoxic for birds.
Vine, lately the bird does well with corn flakes and cheerios. If you REALLY want her attention, you reinforce with (raw, unsalted) pistachios. Also (unsweetened) coconut shreds are good.
Her preferences are subject to change without notice.
wht treats r u givin her?
That USED to be true! Pencils contains graphite, which is carbon, think like super compressed charcoal. While the paint coloring a pencil and the metal holding the eraser aren’t good things for a bird to chew all day, touching a pencil with feet or chewing one up on occasion won’t hurt a bird.
ATTENTION: it’s better not using pensil because they contain lead and it’s very poisonous!!
the eraser could contain lead too if it was used to erase.
You can use a chinesse stick !
Excellent clip and example of target training. Good for your daughter!
