The Quakers have the potential to be the better talkers, but they can get nippy & have the stronger beak.

Sun conures are the most colorful, but are not good talkers.

Green cheeks are usually the most tolerant & can be good talkers.

You say you want your bird to want to be with you for hours and hours. Most birds will want that, but you need to be real careful about giving them more attention now than you will in the future.

Serj, you sound like a young person who ma be a teenager or soon to be teenager & your life will be having a lot of new changes in the not too distant future & you may not be able to give it the same amount of attention when all these new things...girls, sports, clubs, parties, driving, work...start eating away at those 24 hours in the day...plus you've still got to sleep.

Parrots like routine & if you give your new feathered friend lots of your time and attention then suddenly have to make time for something else, your feathered friend is not going to understand & they often become demanding, nippy, noisy & may start to pluck their feathers. By noisy I mean screaming...so, think about what might happen in your future & interact with your new feathered friend accordingly.

There really are a lot of changes coming your way, so in order to keep your new buddy from becoming a feathered monster, don't over do it in the beginning.

Which ever bird you decide on, I would join one or more of the bird groups at:

http://pets.dir.groups.yahoo.com/dir/1600042411

They have Quaker groups, sun groups, green cheek groups & combined groups for any type you might have.

Good luck with your choice....

I own all three, plus a Grey, Lovebirds. I would suggest to you the Quaker. My Quaker is very social. He started by learning sounds, then picked up tunes and then phrases. He's a healthy size, loves to cuddle and is not a screamer like the other two choices can be at times. I talk to him every time I go by his cage. Yesterday when I took him out, he had a new phrase for me. "I love Mama". Clear as a bell. We have had him since July when we adopted him from a gentleman who didn't have time for him. I think he has adapted nicely through it all. Good luck to you.
